What is a Professional Organizer?

Most people are still not clear on exactly who or what is a Professional Organizer? I've put together a list of frequently asked questions that I hope will answer all your questions. If you're still not clear just shoot me a comment and I will try my best to answer.
“Professional Organizers are individuals who create customized solutions to increase the efficiency of any home, office or individual. Professional Organizers help their clients to find balance, restore order and maximize their time and resources at home, office and workplace locations. Services vary widely, depending on the area or range of specialization.”
Benefits of Hiring a Professional Organizer

• Reduce stress

• More time and energy for yourself

• Increase efficiency and productivity

• Reduce problems related to time, space, and storage

• Improve planning skills

• Uncluttered and more inviting spaces

Will a professional organizer make me throw away all my "stuff"?

No. You decide what, if anything is thrown away. A professional organizer asks questions, shares information and gives advice and suggestions. During this process, the organizer helps you decide what is or is not important to you.

Do I have to be present when you organize my space?

Not necessarily, but it’s highly recommended that you be a part of this process. Not only will we come
across things or situations where we’ll need your input, but also being a part of the process will allow you to understand what’s going on and you’ll be more likely to keep up the system.

I am a very private person. Will my sessions with a professional organizer be confidential?

A NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers) professional organizer recognizes the high level of trust placed in them by their clients, and they are guided by a code of ethics that emphasizes confidentiality, honesty and integrity.

How much does a professional organizer charge?

Where you live, the kind of organizing service(s) you need, are factors that affect a professional organizer's fee.

How long will it take?

Each organizing project is different. Most often, the length of a project depends on the size of your home or office, the amount of clutter and paper that has accumulated, and how quickly you make decisions about what stays and what goes. Generally though, bathrooms and small areas may only take a few hours, closets may take about a day, and whole rooms can take about a week or longer.
